For some reason this made me think of The Boxcar Children. Anyone else read these?

Umm…my childhood was defined by books. This definitely being a front runner in that race.
“One warm night four children stood in front of a bakery. No one knew them. No one knew where they had come from. Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny were orphans—Boxcar Children—looking for a place to live, determined to make it on their own.”

I definitely did a shoebox panorama for these books in my 3rd grade Reading class.

I definitely thought i was a boxcar child…I was jessie and my younger sister was violet.  the boys well they were imaginary.  and we totally had bread soaked in milk one time.  i think deep down i was a part of the boxcar children.  they definitely formed my elementary school years!
